Nine Inch Nails drummer Jerome Dillon suffers chest pains

UPI News Service, 09/19/2005

Nine Inch Nails experienced a scare at the start of its tour with Queens of the Stone Age when drummer Jerome Dillon suffered chest pains on stage.

About 40 minutes into the NiN set at San Diego's Cox Arena Friday night, the band broke and soon after, frontman Trent Reznor announced from off stage: "We've got a medical emergency. We'll be back with you in a minute or two," RollingStone.com reported Monday.

Reznor updated the crowd about 10 minutes later, saying Dillon was having chest pains and "we're all kind of freaked out back here."

Another announcement a short time later said the show would be postponed until Nov. 20. The band also canceled its Saturday night show in Tucson, Ariz., Rolling Stone said.

Dillon spent the night undergoing tests at a San Diego hospital. But he's apparently fine now, since posting on the NiN Web site said the tour would resume with Dillon behind the drum kit Monday night in Phoenix.

Reznor thanked the San Diego audience for its "understanding and respect" during the crisis.

Nine Inch Nails drummer Jerome Dillon hospitalized again

UPI News Service, 09/29/2005

Nine Inch Nails drummer Jerome Dillon was hospitalized Thursday for the second time this month.

NIN leader Trent Reznor wrote on the band's Web site that Dillon got sick following Wednesday night's concert in Sacramento, Calif., Billboard.com reported.

"As I'm walking to the bus to leave Sacramento as soon as I can, I learn Jerome is back in the hospital," Reznor posted. "I have no idea what this means."

The first concert Sept. 16 was cut short after Dillon was taken to a San Diego hospital with an undisclosed illness. The following night's concert was postponed as well.

Dillon later blamed exhaustion and said doctors had given him a clean bill of health.

It was unknown whether Dillon would be with the band for Friday night's concert in Oakland, Calif., Billboard.com said.
